For anyone that knows us, you know that our dogs are a HUGE part of our lives. I wish they could have been a part of our wedding, because there is nothing I love more than seeing wedding pictures where the couple’s dog(s) are wearing flower crowns and just being so cute walking down the aisle. However, our dogs would not have been good. They would have been ripping apart their flower crowns and barking at birds. Therefore, having them in the wedding was never an option. That got me thinking though.
I found this company that has 1,000’s of cookie cutters. You could even design your own, but I didn’t have to because there was already a doberman! I took that as sign and bought it right away. They were super affordable and offered the one I wanted in several sizes, which was nice. It arrived quickly and was a nice thick plastic. Did not feel cheap and the packaging was cute, so that won me over right away.
Side note: check out their Instagram for some insanely gorgeous cookies. To pretty to eat!
I bounced back and forth between using the cookie cutter on sugar cookies for our dessert table or for dog treats. In the end, it made more sense to use them with the dog treats and I could not be happier with how they turned out. They ended up being so cute as some of our guest favors and my dogs loved all the extras.
I searched Pinterest for some dog treat recipes and decided on the following three:
I had a few “helpers” waiting for me to drop crumbs.
Katie helped me the week of the wedding and wrapped all my favors up. The string was the perfect touch! Each bag had 3-4 treats and I loved how the doberman treat looked mixed in with the heart treats.
Who has had dogs be a part of their big day?? Are yours behaved and able to run around freely– we need actually train ours.. oops! Tell me what unique wedding favors you have seen or given out? I would love to hear.
